Meet the Scorpions: He was born and raised in San Angelo, TX. to David Samaniego, Sr. and Linda Escobedo. He attended San Angelo Central and played under great coaches that ingrained football into him. These great coaches, Jimmie Keeling, Davis Edison, Davis Central, Gillespie, and Cauthen taught sound fundamentals and emphasized detail. David developed his leadership skills as he served in the U.S. Army in an air defense artillery team as a squad/platoon Sgt. and as a supply Sgt. He had the opportunity to serve in various conflicts and aid in many reliefs. During his coaching tenure, David had the opportunity to coach at two all-star games; one as a defensive coach and the other as an offensive coach. David is a God fearing man and believes that in everything we do we MUST put God first!
