Scorpions in the Community

January 7, 2012 The Scorpions hosted their first West Central Texas Food Bank Charity game. We charged can goods for admission. The Scorpions donated over 200 can goods to the food bank. Thank you for supporting us so that we can support our community. Lets keep working together.

December 3rd 2011 was our 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Charity game. The Scorpions and the Dawson Los Locos both donated Toys for the cause. The entry fee into the game was a tory or a $5 donation to Toys for Tots. All proceeds from this game were donated to Toys for Tots. We helped get over $800 in money and toys for the Toys for Tots organization. In two years that brings our total up to over $1300!!!

For the second straight year, on Thanksgiving Day several Scorpion players gave up their time with family and went to the Abilene Civic Center to feed the veterans and homeless a warm Thanksgiving dinner. It was a humbling service to give back to the veterans that sacraficed for us!

March 30 and April 6th 2011 several Scorpion players helped pass out food to homeless and needy with Love and Care ministries and Meals on Wheels.

Several players adopted a child from the Salvation Army Angel Tree to shop for and bring gifts to. We are working hard to give back to the community and spread the message of love in 2010.

Several Scorpion players helped a local church in Abilene collect shoebox gifts to take to a sister church in Acuna, Mexico in 2010. The shoeboxes contained many items for families and some toys for children as well. This is another great way to give back and spread the love of Christ!

On October 5th, 2010, the West Texas Scorpions volunteered to help at the Solid Rock Church to run the dunk tank at their fall festival. It was a success. Fans from all over came to dunk their favorite, or least favorite, scorpion player. Lots of fun and kids were happy.
