Scorpions finish their preseason 3-0

The Scorpions win again. The Garland Aztecs came to town only to go home with the L 25-6. The offense had long sustaining drives throughout the game but struggled in the red zone. The offense racked up yards but untimely penalties and turnovers in the red zone kept them off the scoreboard for the first half. The second half was a different story as the offense produced 3 touchdowns, one on the ground and two through the air.

The Scorpion defense once again dominated their opponent, holding them under 100 yrds of total offense, forcing 5 turnovers, and getting 2 safeties.

Scorpions win again

The Scorpions traveled to McCamey to play the Permian Basin Skyforce for their first road game. The Scorpion offense struggled to be consistent but scored enough to go home with the win. The defense continued to dominate as the scorpions won 23-21.

Scorpions pick up right where they left off

The Scorpions team picked up right where they left off last season in dominating fashion against a young but good Dawson team. The Scorpions offense started out slow only building a 14-0 halftime lead but after intermission the offense broke loose to finish with a 47-0 victory. The offense had 360 yrds of total offense with 148 yrds on the ground and 212 yrds through the air. The ground attack averaged 6.4 yrds a carry and we scored 2 TDs. The air attack had a 45% completion rate, averaged 23.6 yrds per reception, and scored 4 TDs with 0 ints. 

The defense continued its dominance as well. The defense gave up -1yrd rushing; they had 5 QB sacks and 9TFL. Dawson completed only 2 passes on 20 attempts for 4 yrds. The defense forced 5 intceptions and blocked one kick for a TD. 

We had 3 fumbles and 75yrds in penalties. We gave Dawson 3 first downs on penalties. These kind of mistakes can cost against a great team. We still have more to work on!
